Crows feet appearing at the corners of your eyes are usually the first wrinkles that appear on a man or woman. Although this is part of the natural aging process, crow's feet are often caused by premature aging due to lifestyle and environment.
Crows feet are often caused by simply laughing or frowning, the cheeks and eyes lifting and creasing when we do this. Squinting into the sun without proper eye protection is also another cause for these fine wrinkles.
There are so many creams and lotions available that declare they can rid the face of these wrinkles, but many are costly and contain chemicals we consumers know little about. By going to your kitchen cupboard or refrigerator, many great home remedies for crow's feet can be found. Here is a look at some of the most effective and easy home remedies you can do to battle crow's feet.
TIGHTEN THE SKIN
A great way of tightening the skin and is also a homemade mask, is the use of egg whites. Have you ever broken an egg and then had to clean the mess created? Egg whites harden very quickly.
In a bowl, crack one egg and divide the egg white from the yolk. Using cotton wool or your fingers apply the egg white to your wrinkles and leave for several minutes. You will feel your skin tightening as the egg white hardens. Using warm water, wash the area and pat dry.
Another great home remedy to tighten the skin is by using the core of a pineapple. Cut a piece of pineapple and rub gently around the area affected. Leave for several minutes until you feel the skin tightening, and then wash off with warm water and pat dry. The acid contained in the pineapple fruit penetrates the skin that causes wrinkles to appear and aides against new ones appearing.
Use an oil that is moisturizing on the skin such as coconut or almond oil. You can get these from your local pharmacist or health food store. Twice a day, in the morning and the evening apply a small amount of oil to the wrinkles to moisturize the area. This keeps the skin smooth and subtle.
When you do moisturize your face, make sure you treat the eye area very carefully as it's a very sensitive area. Moisturize in small round circles, making your way upward and outwards along the cheeks, forehead and eyes.
You should also apply your moisturizer to wet skin, and then pat dry with a towel. Moisturizers shouldn't be excessively massaged into the skin.
Some makeup removers contain harsh chemicals and others require excessive pressure and friction to remove dirt and makeup from the eye area. Use natural avocado oil to remove your eye makeup as this provides great moisture, while at the same time removes makeup with little effort.
Make a small spray in a glass bottle made from mineral water and essential oils. For 100ml of water, place 4 drops of essential oil of Rose into it. For a refreshing spray that enlivens the skin and the senses, spray onto your face when needed.
DIET AND FLUIDS
You must also drink several glasses of water a day to keep the water content in your body and skin healthy.
Eat a balanced diet that contains many raw and cooked vegetables, plenty of fruit and nuts and legumes that contain antioxidants and vital minerals beneficial to the skin.
Protect your skin by wearing sunscreen or hats when out in the sun. Always wear good sunglasses that block the UV rays from the sun and you avoid squinting. If you work in an office that may cause glare on computer screens and desks, keep the blinds closed or the lights dimmed.
Following some basic diet and protection methods and incorporating some of the natural home remedies above, will see a decline in your crow's feet and will stop new lines appearing.
