Essential oils work cosmetically and as anti-aging agents in several ways. The stimulate skin cells into reproducing at a quicker rate, thus reducing the time lag between new skin growth and the elimination of old cells. Before listing the essential oils, I think it is important to stress the fact that while treating yourself with these oils, it will obviously speed things along if you don't overload the system with more toxins that the skin has to work harder to eliminate. You can use any of these oils on their own or make combinations of two or more to suit your needs. Use the oils in a bath, as a face oil, or body rub. Because everyone's skin doesn't regenerate at the same rate, allow at least thirty days before expecting to see outward signs of improvement.
Normal skin - Normal skin is a misnomer. Children have normal skin. We aspire to it. Adults that attest to normal skin can use these oil bases: Almond, Apricot kernel or Hazelnut. Additions to base oils are Evening primrose, Carrot, Jojoba, Borage seed.
Essential oils for normal skin: Chamomile(German), Geranium, Lavender, Rose, Neroli, Palma rosa, Lemon, Fennel, Jasmine, Bois de rose, Frankincense, Benzoin.
Day moisturizer for normal skin: Rose 15 drops; Chamomile(German) 5 drops; Lavender 5 drops; Lemon 5 drops. Diluted in 2 tablespoons almond or hazelnut oil. This moisturizer should be applied to damp skin. Massage it in and then dab the face with a tissue until no excess oil shows on the tissue.
Night care oil, for normal skin: Geranium 10 drops; Palma rosa 10 drops; Fennel 5 drops; Lemon 5 drops. Dilute in 2 tablespoons apricot kernel oil to which you have added 10 drops of evening primrose oil.
Dry to normal skin oil bases: Almond; Avocado; Wheatgerm; Olive oil; Apricot kernel; Soya bean. Additions to base oil: Jojoba; Borage seed; Evening primrose; Carrot.
Essential oils for dry to normal skin: Chamomile(German); Lavender; Sandalwood, Patchouli, Rose Bois de rose; Hyssop, Benzoin; Calendula; Geranium; Palma rosa; Rosemary; Neroli.
Day re-moisturizing oil for dry to normal skin: Chamomile(German) 15 drops; Sandalwood 5 drops; Bois de rose 5 drops; Hyssop 5 drops. Dilute in 2 tablespoons of the base vegetable oil to which you have added 10 drops of evening primrose and 2 drops of carrot oil. Use in the same way you would use your usual moisturizing cream or lotion.
Night oil treatment for dry to normal skin: Blend the base oil - Soya bean 2 teaspoons; Avocado 2 teaspoons; Wheatgerm 2 teaspoons; Jojoba 30 drops; Borage seed 10 drops; Evening primrose 20 drops; then add: Carrot 10 drops; Hyssop 5 drops; Rosemary 5 drops; Chamomile(German) 10 drops; Benzoin 10 drops; Geranium 15 drops and blend again. This makes an extremely rich night oil. Massage a small amount into the skin and leave it for a while and then wipe off the excess with a tissue.
Oily to normal skin: Oily to normal skin oil bases: Almond; Apricot kernel; Hazelnut; Grapeseed. Additions to base oil: Borage seed; Carrot; Evening primrose. Essential oils for oily to normal skin: Chamomile(German); Juniper; Palma rosa; Lemon; Lime; Orange; Frankincense; Lavender; Geranium; Cypress; Pettigraine; Marjoram; Rosemary; Jasmine; Ylang-Ylang. Day balanced for oily to normal skin: Juniper 8 drops; Geranium 10 drops; Lemon 10 drops; Rosemary 2 drops. Dilute in 2 tablespoons hazelnut oil to which you have added 10 drops of carrot oil. Massage the oil in and then dab the face with a tissue until no excess oil shows there.
Night treatment for oily to normal skin: Juniper 10 drops; Pettigraine 15 drops; Frankincense 5 drops; Marjoram 5 drops; Lemon 10 drops. Dilute in 2 tablespoons apricot kernel oil to which you have added 10 drops carrot oil.
These recipes really do work and the essential oils and herbs are easily found in health food stores and on the Internet and are very simple to make.
